Retailers must follow CCTV privacy laws
Published on 29 Apr 2008Retailers are being warned that they must follow privacy guidelines if they use CCTV in their stores. Incorrect use of CCTV may be viewed as an invasion of privacy, and failiure to follow the right procedure can lead to evidence being inadmissable in court.
Guidance on the correct use of CCTV is available from the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
