Lincolnshire Police are trialling a CCTV system that is installed in their body armour, reports the Lincolnshire Echo.
The force will be the first in the country to try the scheme before it is rolled out across the country. The police hope that the cameras will act as a deterrent as well as providing evidence should the need arise.
Inspector Phil Vickers said,
"People planning to go out in the city [of Lincoln] over the seasonal period should feel more reassured that they can have a fun night out without getting caught up in any trouble as a result of this new initiative."
This follows a similar scheme in Norwich where cameras were attached to police headgear.
