SIA launch online application tracker

The Security Industry Authority (SIA), the body responsible for issuing licenses to security personnel, has launched an online licence application tracker. Paul Douglas, SIA Assistant Director Licensing said:

"I am delighted that the SIA online tracker has been launched. We have listened closely to our customers through satisfaction surveys and workshops to get feedback on the application process.
"We learned a lot from the experience gained throughout the implementation of licensing in England and Wales. We are aware of the challenges faced by companies in the training and licensing of their employees. The tracker demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement and customer service."

Legislation in 2005 required security firms to employ only licensed personnel, but the initial rush for applications resulted in a massive backlog.
