'Respectful' CCTV camera in development

Scientists at the University of California Berkeley (UCB) are developing a new form of CCTV they've dubbed the 'respectful camera'. The camera will automatically obscure the faces of people it records, reports Computer act!ve.

Ken Goldberg, a computer scientist at UCB said, "Cameras are here to stay, and there's no avoiding it, let's figure out new technology to make them less invasive."

Police will be able to unblock the faces in the event of an investigation.
