Crime reporting website to close (and possibly open)
Published on 27 Apr 2007A police website, set up to enable the public to report crimes, has been closed down due to underuse, reports Kablenet. www.police.uk also had additional functions specifically for police forces, but these too were rarely used.
Meanwhile Lord Broers, Chairman of the House of Lords Technology and Science Committee has suggested that the UK could introduce a website for people to report ecrime. The site would be similar to the US version, the Internet Crime Complaint Centre.
