Guard caught by own CCTV

A security guard has been sentenced to 100 hours of community for stealing from an office he knew was being monitored by CCTV, reports Sheffield Today.

The guard expected to be caught but was unable to explain his actions but admitted to suffering from depression at the time. He was spared a jail sentence after a psychological report was taken into consideration.

Recorder Ian Kersaw told him:

"For reasons that are still unclear you took these computers in full view of CCTV. I am satisfied that you were under a great deal of personal and domestic pressure."
