Safe Homes UK security update, 21 April 2006

1. Greetings from Safe Homes UK.
The Easter holidays are over and we're all back at work, but console yourselves with the thought that summer is on the way and with it the greatest show on earth; that's right it's the World Cup.
On a less jaunty note there have been a number of security stories in the news in recent weeks. The ongoing investigation into the record-breaking heist in Kent has produced more arrests. Meanwhile the worrying number of attacks on Securicor vans has prompted calls for the crimes to be recorded as public rather than business crimes. Those affected argue that the attacks involve assaults and threats to kill and should be treated as a high priorty.
As we reported in our last bulletin, the Information Commissioner (the government department responsible for data protection issues) produced some guidance on CCTV and data protection. This was a prelude to a complete set of new guidelines that were due out at the beginning of the year. If you were wondering what happened to these guidelines then you can find out more here ».
Remember, if you have any security queries at all, please don't hesitate to give us a call on 0870 042 0684, or visit our website.
Best regards
Ram Parkash
