1. Greetings from Safe Homes UK.
As we reported in our April bulletin, the violence inflicted on security van drivers led to calls for the crimes to be considered as personal attacks rather than business crimes. This month the rise in such attacks on has prompted MPs to table an Early Day Motion to that effect.
The change in emphasis from business to personal crime would make such assaults a policing priority and comes after a campaign by the GMB general workers union and the British Security Industry Authority (BSIA).
In our news roundup last month we brought you a story about a new method of fingerprinting being pioneered by the Metropolitan police. This month the Met has more good news as it announces that evidence provided by another hi-tech fingerprint system, Live scan, has resulted in the conviction of an armed robber. Perhaps British policing methods are more like CSI than we thought.
Remember, if you have any security queries at all, please don't hesitate to give us a call on 0870 042 0684, or visit our website.
Best regards
